About

This is an independent blog run by Ian Jackson about Hope Street, Liverpool, UK.

Ian Jackson also created artinliverpool.com, Liverpool Art Prize and the websites for Independents Liverpool Biennial, Liverpool Discovers, iScandi, View Two Gallery and various others.

He lives on Hope Street with his wife Minako. He is a LIOBian (Liverpool Institute Old Boy (now LIPA)), worked in the nearby Computing Services Dept at the University of Liverpool for many, many years and loves the Hope Street area.

A street of astonishing beauty and stunning architecture. The world famous Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, the legendary Everyman Theatre and two majestically different cathedrals. The ornate Philharmonic pub where the Beatles used to meet. One of the coolest boutique hotels in the UK and some of the hottest restaurants. A fantastic starting point for a journey of discovery in a city bursting with culture and creativity.

Liverpool will win your heart and capture your soul.
But then we would say that. Why not come and see for yourself? Don’t wait.
